You Can Access The Polaris Lounge The Day After A Flight...
Intro
I was debating whether or not to share this or gatekeep it for myself 😅.
I recently had the opportunity to fly United Polaris from Asia over to the US and I wanted to share a recent update on Polaris Lounge access rules that aren't officially published yet. I hope this is helpful to some people, as I understand that having a meal in the Polaris lounge is a nice added benefit.
Next Day Acess (24 Hours)
So, I was flying from Taipei to San Francisco and then onward to Los Angeles, landing at 6:06 pm on the 21st of December.
The next day (on a separate ticket), I headed back to the airport to take the next leg of my adventure over to Newark with United on their 777-200ER (review coming soon). I headed to the Polaris Lounge at LAX around 11 am and scanned my boarding pass SFO-LAX from the night prior. According to the agent working at the lounge, I was allowed access on their screen. This was to the point where even the agents were confused as to what was going on.
Needless to say, I enjoyed the LAX lounge, with multiple glasses of champagne, a fantastic burger, and the mandatory skillet cookie.
Rules...
After my experience in Houston as well, being allowed into the lounge on a separate ticket 36 hours before my Polaris flight, it got me thinking about something.
I believe this "same-day access" they say on the website isn't exactly the same day. I believe the system registers the first flight 24 hours before and the last flight 24 hours after departure. It wasn't even the case of the agent making a special exception; the system actually showed Polaris Lounge access...
Final Thoughts
Anyways, if you plan on flying in for a meeting overseas somewhere and connecting the next day domestically, you can get into the Polaris Lounge! Who would have thought that this was the case? I hope this helps. I also hope United doesn't patch this if it comes out...
