Woohoo: My Amazing Aeroplan Reward Booking: Sweet Spot

Intro

As my quest to visit every country in the world continues, I am due to head over to Asia in a couple of weeks to visit the likes of Brunei, South Korea, and the border of North Korea. Usually, from Los Angeles, it's about a 12-hour flight over to Incheon. There was an option to book this directly on rewards, but I decided to spice it up a little bit.

Turkish Airlines Business Class A330

Well, I decided to fly the wrong way to Asia😅

Routing

Surprisingly, this was my first time making a complicated multi-city booking through Aeroplan, and I wasn't excited. However, all went extremely well; my call was picked up instantly, and I informed the agent of the flights I desired. He put me on hold for about 2 minutes before coming back and confirming that he had all of the flights available. I proceeded to transfer the points from my American Express, and within seconds, they posted. We continued with the payment, and it was done within 20 minutes. wow!

The routing consists of the following:

Alaska Airlines- San Diego- New York (JFK)- Paid separately.

LOT- JFK- Warsaw- 787-9 Business Class

LOT- Warsaw- Istanbul- E190- Business Class

TK- Istanbul- Dhaka- A330- Business Class

TG- Dhaka- Bangkok- 777-200- Business Class

I tell you what, 4 flights in Business Class and 2 over 8 hours for 87.5K miles ain't too bad at all. I could have stretched it, but I didn't see the need to, as no reward flights were available to Brunei.

Prices

Aeroplan has a sweet spot when flying from North America to the Asia region. The prices are as follows:

Aeroplan Award Chart Pacific

Seeing as getting to Asia from the US is the expensive part; I decided to max my trip out at the 87,500 thresholds as I didn't see the value of continuing to Seoul when my intended first destination is Brunei (no availability).

Sadly, these types of multi-city flights are not available online and have to be booked over the phone. Online, they will price out individually. Ugh😒.

The total taxes, fees, and booking fees came out to 108$ USD, which isn't too bad at all for 4 flights in Business Class!

Final Thoughts

Aeroplan has some amazing award redemption from North America to the Pacific region if you are willing to put in a little bit of time to find space. My trip consists of 4 flights in Business Class, traveling 9000 miles, all for 87,500 miles! I highly recommend taking advantage of this if you have the means!
