United Airlines Adds Laurent Perrier Champagne To Business Class

Intro

For a decent period of time, United Airlines has been serving Heidsick Monopole in Business Class on all flights operated as "Polaris." While Heidsick Monopole has been alright, it's always been worse than plenty of the Asia competitors, for example. Well, that is soon to change, as United will now be serving much better champagne to passengers flying Polaris.

The Details

As of January 1st, 2025, United Airlines will begin serving Laurent Perrier La Cuvee Champagne to all passengers in Polaris Business Class. This is an extremely impressive offering for US carriers, as operating costs for US carriers are already a lot higher than carriers in Asia (usually the airlines with nicer champagne), for example again 😂. As an example, American or Delta doesn't offer nearly anything like Laurent Perrier, so this is a big win in the United books.

My Thoughts

Considering this is about the norm of what you would find on an Asian carrier (Thai serves LP in Business Class), this is a fantastic offering for those looking to fly with a US carrier. It's interesting, as Delta recently announced that they plan to serve Tattinger shortly on Delta One, and the price points for both of these are vastly similar (AA, where are you?).

Polaris Experience

The Polaris experience is already pretty good, especially considering the competition. The bedding that they offer is some of the best business-class bedding in the world, and the seats are more than adequate for a long-haul product. The only aspect of the experience that was missing was the lackluster food and drink options. While the champagne aspect has now been solved, I hope the food follows suit soon.

To add further, United will be upgrading its wine selections as well with the following:

• Freemark Abbey cabernet sauvignon

• E. Guigal, a delicious Chateauneuf-du-Pape (French)

• Luca GLOT, a 100% chardonnay (Argentina)

Final Thoughts

United Airlines has just announced that it plans to severely upgrade its business class champagne on long-haul routes. Keep in mind that this upgrade to Laurent Perrier, beginning January 1st, will only apply to routes that feature Polaris (premium transcon service is excluded as well). Now, all we need is upgraded food!
