Turkish Airlines Launching Flights To Cambodia: Another New Country!
Intro
Turkish Airlines recently set the Guinness world record for the number of countries that an airline flies to. Well, it doesn't seem to be stopping there as Turkish Airlines has just announced that it will be flying to the capital of Cambodia: Phnom Penh.
The Details
Phnom Penh has gained traction over the years as a place which offers multiple flight to multiple destinations. Jakarta, Seoul, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and now Istanbul are just some of the destinations served from this beautiful country.
Turkish Airlines will be launching flights from Istanbul-Bangkok-Phnom Penh beginning December 10th, 2025, and will continue on until March 2026, thus meaning that this is a winter seasonal route. The flight will be operated with an A330-300 & 777-300 and will be served Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (the BKK-PNH leg will be operated on those days) with the following schedule:
TK52: Istanbul-Bangkok departing 10:05 pm and arriving at 11:15 am (+1 day)
TK52: Bangkok-Phnom Penh departing 1:10 pm and arriving at 2:30 pm
TK53: Phnom Penh-Bangkok departing 6:30 pm and arriving at 8:00 pm
TK53: Bangkok-Istanbul departing 9:40pm and arriving at 4:55 am (+1 day)

Interestingly, it seems that Turkish Airlines has not been able to acquire fifth freedom flights between the two destinations, as you have to be ticketed from Istanbul all the way to Phnom Penh in order to fly from Bangkok to the Cambodian capital. This is a shame as I imagine that the leg to Phnom Penh will go out quite empty due to this.
My Thoughts
Cambodia is one of the most special countries I have ever visited in my life, there is a certain energy to the country which I haven't experienced before. It's always nice when airlines add more frequencies to destinations, and this will be a good winter addition for those looking to head over to Cambodia to escape the cold.

From Phnom Penh, the drive up to Siem Reap is around 5 hours where you can take a look at Angkor Wat and how beautiful this place is.
In my opinion, Turkish Airlines doesn't have much to lose by operating this route. With the plane doing the daily rotation to Phnom Penh, it allows for the Bangkok-Istanbul sectors to both be redeyes, in turn meaning it could be more lucrative for drawing in passengers.
Final Thoughts
Turkish Airlines has just announced that the airline will be flying to their newest country: Cambodia. From December 2025, until March 2026, Turkish Airlines will be launching 3x weekly flights from Istanbul to Phnom Penh with a stopover in Bangkok. Unfortunately, this route can only be booked through so don't get your hopes up on a lie-flat seat for an hour without having to fly the longer leg...
