Turkish Airlines Adds Fifth Freedom Flights to Santiago From Sao Paulo
Intro
Turkish Airlines is known to be the airline that serves the most countries in the world. Their route network stretches to all ends of the world, all the way from Melbourne to now Santiago, Chile.
With that being said, their latest addition to their route network is Santiago, Chile. Let's get into the details!
The Details
Beginning soon, Turkish Airlines will be launching a route with an A350-900 from Istanbul-Sao Paulo-Santiago. The second route from Sao Paulo will be operated as fifth freedom route, meaning that passengers will be able to purchase this leg on its own.
The schedule is as follows:
TK215 Istanbul to Sao Paulo departing 8:35 PM arriving 4:15 AM (+1 day)
TK215 Sao Paulo to Santiago departing 5:50 AM and arriving 9:45 AM
TK216 Santiago to Sao Paulo departing 11:40 AM and arriving 3:15 PM
TK215 Sao Paulo to Istanbul departing 4:50 PM arriving 11:20 AM (+1 day)
Turkish Airlines currently flies 11x weekly to Sao Paulo, with service commencing 4x weekly on a continuation to Buenos Aires.
My Thoughts
The Business world seems to be doing well in South America at the moment. Moreover, it's interesting to see how Qatar Airways operates twice-daily flights, Emirates flies their biggest jet there, and the market from Europe seems to be booming in Brazil. Demand must really be there at the moment...
Fifth freedom flights within South America seem to be a blast. Multiple airlines operate fun routes, such as Swiss Airlines, from Buenos Aires to Sao Paulo. If interested, you can fly Swiss First Class roundtrip for as low as 1400$!
Personally, I think this is a fun addition by Turkish Airlines that will also, hopefully, help drive the costs down that LATAM has. Then again, both LATAM and Turkish Airlines are fantastic products to fly!
Final Thoughts
Turkish Airlines is launching a fifth freedom route from Sao Paulo to Santiago, Chile, on its aircraft continuation from Istanbul. This is exciting news for customers, as it means there are now more options to fly between the two cities. Expect the new service to launch soon!
