The Cheapest Way To Book Delta One With Points & Miles
Intro
Delta has been known to have some of the worst currencies when it comes to miles due to how much they charge on certain routes. The other day, I was checking to see how much a Delta One ticket would cost from Minneapolis to Seoul, and it came out to 425K SkyPesos one way!
Well, I'm here to tell you that there is a way to book Delta One through their website for a lot cheaper, but only to one destination...
This might not be for everyone, but let's jump into it!
The Deal
If you know me by now, I've wanted to try out the new Delta One lounge to see how it compares to the Chelsea Lounge in New York. I have to get over to Ecuador, so I started checking SkyMiles to see their redemption rates in Delta One out of New York. I stumbled on this.
Let's address the elephant in the room: it does require a couple of changes. Another elephant in the room is the A350 that flies that route and is equipped with a 2-2-2 configuration, much like LATAM.
However, when else have I ever seen a price like that to fly Delta One?? My answer is very rarely. Whether you are looking to try out the new Delta One Lounge in New York or want to try the Delta One experience, this might be for you (no, this is not directed at business travelers).
Another option, but slightly more expensive, is the one-stop, which is operating until August 3rd (no, this deal does not work from ATL).
Final Thoughts
This isn't a post targeted at the individuals who like to get from Point A to Point B the quickest; it's targeted at fellow AVgeeks like myself who want to try it out for a fraction of the price. Of course, with Virgin Atlantic hiking up their award chart to anywhere but Europe for Delta, this means a challenging time booking these shorter D1 flights for cheap.
