The Best Brunch At Bean & Bagel In Bridgetown, Barbados
Intro
During my very short visit to Barbados, I had the opportunity to go for brunch before heading out on Jetblue Mint back to New York. Honestly, I didn't have the best time in Barbados, primarily due to how much more expensive everything was on this island versus Grenada.
I ended up heading to Bean & Bagel, though, which was absolutely wonderful and a place I recommend you check out!
Brunch
Bean n Bagel is located on the west side of the island nearby the famous resort "Sandy Lane". If you have the money to stay somewhere nice in Barbados, Sandy Lane is the place to be, from what I have heard. I was staying at the Palms resort, which is about a 20-minute walk away but infinitely cheaper.
Arriving at the restaurant, I found that the service was very friendly. Considering that the hotel I was staying in was the opposite, I was thankful to interact with some locals and talk about life in Barbados.
The coffee was very nice and at 4.5$ per coffee, cheaper than fancy hotels on the island.
Food-wise, I decided on getting pancakes with a side of bacon, as well as a bagel with cream cheese. All of this, including two coffees and tip, came out to around 30$ USD. Yes this was an expensive breakfast, but it was also extremely good.
The staff were so friendly that when I asked to try a shot of the local rum, they invited me into the liquor store nearby where they were giving out free samples!! Who in their right mind would say no to free rum he? It goes to show that life is about much more than money🙂. I did tip very well after I came back from the liquor store due to their generosity.
Final Thoughts
If you happen to be on the west side of the island, and north of the downtown area of Bridgetown, make sure to put Bean n Bagel on your radar. They are open from 7 am until 3 pm and are certainly the spot for some great food at a reasonable price. To add on, there is a liquor store next door that gives free samples of rums😉.
