Staying At An Airbnb In Cape Town

Intro

During my three-night stay in Cape Town, I decided to stay at an Airbnb to minimize costs (I realize I am not one for hostels even though I am young). When heading to Cape Town, you have plenty of different options, from budget hotels to luxury hotels and even Airbnb. If you are on a budget, I highly recommend staying at an Airbnb in Cape Town, as this property came out to about 30 USD per night, which was an absolute steal.

The Experience

Some people like to get pampered on vacation, sipping cocktails by the pool and eating delicious tenderloins. However, this wasn't that type of trip. These functional Airbnbs work great. I checked in downstairs with the doorman, and the key was in a lockbox located just outside of the door.

The property in itself was perfect for a short or even long-term stay. Considering the cost, and it being a 5-minute walk to the beach, I couldn't complain at all. In addition, I never found too much noise throughout the property, which is a lovely factor when trying to sleep after watching the beautiful sunsets.

However, the best part about the experience was the rooms. Controversially, I am a fan of the W hotel and the level of chic that they offer (I know a lot of people aren't). To me, it's always exciting to stay in a type of room that isn't of the standard (simple bed, toilet, couch). So, when I walked in to discover an elevated bed, it was refreshing to see.

Other than having some fantastic nights of sleep on the bed, I found the room to provide everything that I needed. From a beautiful couch for lounging to Netflix pre-installed on the TV and a full-service kitchen with a coffee machine, I was a happy boy.

It might not be a luxury hotel with plenty of amenities, but I could see myself living in this place for a couple of weeks if the price was right (which it is). Other than the free wifi, there wasn't much in the way of amenities, which was alright since the beach was 5 minutes away, and Cape Town is a fun place to explore.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a relatively cheap place to stay in Cape Town, look no further than Sea Point Paradise on Airbnb hosted by Ian. At very reasonable prices (especially when I booked the same day) and with a great location, this is a fantastic way to save a touch of money. Oh, did I add 24-hour front door security?
