Singapore Airlines Adds Cristal Champagne To First Class...

Konrad Tillman

Intro

Cristal champagne is one of the most sought-after champagnes in the world. Retailing at around 400$ per bottle for the 2015 edition, this elegant champagne is a combination of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Well, Singapore Airlines will be adding this Champagne to certain routes as of December 1st.

The Details

As of December 1st, 2024, Singapore Airlines will be adding Cristal Champagne to their selection of First Class Champagnes. For the first 3 months, Cristal will only be found on the following routes:

  • Singapore-Delhi

  • Singapore-Shanghai

  • Singapore-Hong Kong

  • Singapore-London

  • Singapore-Los Angeles

  • Singapore-Paris

  • Singapore-Sydney

  • Singapore-Tokyo (Both Haneda and Narita)

I find it very interesting that Frankfurt hasn't been chosen for this, as there is twice daily service with an F cabin from Singapore...

Regardless to say, this is an exciting development. Imagine the feeling of sitting in a double bed sipping Cristal at 38,000 feet.

Yes, Krug should still be available as one of the three options

Singapore Airlines...

Flying First Class is usually an impeccable experience, but Singapore Airlines always takes it up a notch. With the addition of Cristal Champagne, customers will have a choice between Comtes, Krug, and Cristal. For a plane, this is unreal.

However, I have to wonder which way Singapore Airlines is going to take this. Last Christmas, I flew SQ Suites from Singapore to Delhi, where they promoted Rose Krug on the holiday menu. Well, they loaded a singular 375ml bottle for each leg. I truly hope Singapore Airlines loads the same amount as other champagnes for the flights.

Final Thoughts

Singapore Airlines will be adding Cristal champagne to their onboard selection for quite a few first-class routes starting December 1st. Expect the routes to change every 3 months, but I would imagine that London and Sydney will have Cristal stick around. Let's just hope that they load more than a single bottle per flight...
