Should You Fly Norse Airways From USA-Europe And Vice Versa?
Intro
A common reoccurring question that seems to come across my readers is: Should I fly with Norse Airways on my vacation? For those unfamiliar, Norse Airways is basically the new "Norwegian Airlines" and operates as a low-cost carrier but transatlantically instead of domestically.
Well, let's get into the question!
Should You?
Taking a look at flights from New York to London (as an example), results indicate that Norse Airways can go as low as 399$ roundtrip. The likes of Star Alliance, Oneworld, and Skyteam all are at least 200$ more expensive.
Seems great, right? Well, it might depends on the traveler. Unlike the likes of the other airlines in the pictures above, there are no free meals offered, and everything is to be paid for, including a carry-on!
If you happen to be taking a quick trip between New York and London and only need a personal item, Norse Airways might be perfect for you. By the time you were to add a carry-on, checked bag, and a meal on a roundtrip, it would end up costing the same as British Airways!
If you don't know much about how low-cost carriers work, think about the likes of Spirit. Everything is chargeable but the toilet, a seat, and a personal item. If you were to opt for a full fare in economy, the roundtrip would then come out to over 900$ roundtrip! You could fly on British Airways for cheaper and begin earning miles!
Final Thoughts
Unless you plan on only bringing a personal item on your trip to London, or the fares on other carriers are outrageously expensive, I would personally advise against Norse Airways. By the time you end up adding on all of the extras, the total can come out to an even higher price than the other competitors and with a subpar product in comparison.
The best seating from New York to London would be Delta (although I dislike Delta) or United in a 2-3-2. The best food in economy, though, has to go to either Virgin Atlantic or British Airways. The UK carriers seem to treat their passengers so much better.
