Intro
Following a lovely time visiting the Lemurs in Andasibe, and a short nights sleep at Hotel Vakona, we decided that it was time for lunch in the nicest hotel in Andasibe: Mantadia Lodge.
Mantadia Lodge is by far the nicest lodge to stay at when visiting the lemurs. Featuring a fine dining restaurant, spectacular rooms, hot water, a large swimming pool, and a spa that could rival an Asian spa, this is the place to be. Unfortunately, it comes with one downside: you don’t have direct access to the reserve for the lemurs (as well as being slightly more expensive).
Note: We did not stay at the property, but I asked about photographing the entirety due to the beauty of it.
Rooms
Unlike hotel Vakona, rooms are more or less rooms located throughout the hotel instead of separate bungalows. So while they might not be as visually pleasing from the outside, the modernness shines on the inside.

Featuring step-up beds (not sure the right word), customers have the choice to choose from twin beds or a luxurious king-size bed to suit all of your needs. Combine that with the magnificent views overlooking the valley, as well as beautifully appointed bathrooms, I wish that we had stayed here the night prior.
Facilities
The part that really sells this hotel are the facilities. Heading along from the rooms, we came across an infinity swimming pool that looked like it belonged to the Four Seasons, in all honesty. With certain seasons in Madagascar reaching high temperatures, this is the perfect place to take a dip in the afternoon after visiting the surrounding attractions.

Feeling the need to relax after a pool afternoon? Look no further than the spa located opposite the pool that is open from 3 pm-11 pm. Gosh, what I would have done to have a massage…

Note: there is also a small shop on the property to buy smaller souvenirs, plus larger pieces of artwork. Truly an upscale hotel.
Dining
As if the hotel couldn’t get any better, we decided to head off to lunch to experience the top restaurant in the area. Hey, I can’t just live off of beer in life…
Supposedly the owner of the lodge is from South Africa, and that South African charm doesn’t just come out in the design of the restaurant, but in the menu.

Featuring the likes of Zebu, sensational pasta dishes, and anything your heart desires, you are in for a treat when dining here.

As a table, we ended up ordering 2 Zebu Filets (for me), a beetroot salad for my mum, and a seafood pasta for Hajar (my guide). All of the food was top tier.

To polish off a nice meal, my mum opted to order the trio of Creme Brulees, and to quote her, “this is some of the best I have had”.
Just be aware that the food is so good, a fellow cat might come and try to steal some.

Final Thoughts
If you are looking for the most luxurious property in the Andasibe area in Madagascar when visiting the Lemurs, look no further than the Mantadia Lodge. However, at around 130$ per night, it is definitely on the pricier side compared to other properties in the area, combined with the fact that, unlike Hotel Vakona, it is not on the reserve. With great food, a delightful swimming pool, and modern rooms, I bet you it will be a relaxing time…
