Qatar Airways Launching Doha To Toronto Flights: Award Space Wide Open

Intro

Qatar Airways is one of the most global airlines in the world, but there was a major destination in the Western Hemisphere that they were not serving. This city is Toronto! Well, finally, Qatar Airways will be launching a 3x weekly service starting December 11th!

The Details

Starting December 11th, 2024, Qatar Airways will launch a 3x weekly service between Doha and Toronto. The route will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays with a 777-300ER (featuring Q-Suites). The distance is blocked at just over 6700 nautical miles, with Westbound showing a flight time of 14 hours and 5 mins and Eastbound showing 12 hours and 30 minutes. The schedule is as follows:

QR767: Doha-Toronto departing 9:50 AM arriving at 3:55 PM

QR768: Toronto-Doha departing 8:00 PM arriving at 4:30 PM (+1 day)

My Thoughts

It's about time that Qatar Airways begins nonstop service from Doha to Toronto. For countless years, Emirates has had some success on this route, and thus Etihad followed suit by launching a service to Toronto (YYZ) as well. Considering Montreal is served daily, I wouldn't be surprised to see this route operate daily eventually. Granted, EK does have a partnership with Qatar, but we all know who the better airline is 😉.

Award Space Is Wide Open

The best news is that award space seems to be wide open in Q-Suites and has even been extended to American Airlines, which is becoming rarer and rarer. If you want to try out Q-Suites, this is probably the best chance you are going to get with such open space.

Final Thoughts

Qatar Airways will be launching nonstop service from Doha to Toronto as of December 11th this year. The route will operate 3x weekly with a 777-300ER and the best part: reward space is wide open in Business!
