Premium Fare Deals: Dollar Per Hour 8

Intro

Welcome back, everyone. It's Sunday (or Monday, depending on where you are), and you know what that means! It's time for the weekly Dollar Per Hour series. This week, we have 4 decent long-haul fares!

As you know, I love to find good deals on the internet; it's my passion. Every Sunday, I will release an article called the "Dollar Per Hour" series, breaking down some of the best premium-class deals at the moment. While I book some of them and don't, my hope is I am able to help some of you fly in comfort for at least half the price.

Apologies for last week; I was on a crazy trip and had no time!!

Deal 1: Mexico City-Johannesburg Premium Economy 671$ OW

Usually, I would only use these premium fare posts for business or first class. However, this is a fantastic deal with the potential to fly business class for 18 hours for less than 700$ if you have an SWU to burn. Simply unreal.

For 23 hours, you can experience American Airlines economy from Mexico City to Charlotte/Miami, American Airlines premium economy from Charlotte/Miami to London, and British Airways Premium Economy from London to Jo'burg. This deal comes out to 29$ per hour, an unbelievable value for a domestic First Class seat (sort of).

Unbelievable

While the American Airlines premium economy is decent. If you can find the space, you can apply an SWU on American Airlines which would theoretically cover all of the legs up to business class! Wow!

Deal 2: Denpasar-Bora Bora Business Class 3500$ RT

Getting to Bora Bora from anywhere in the world is expensive; there is no doubt about it. I was there last year and had the most fabulous time at the Conrad (my name, ha). With roundtrip tickets from the US coming out to over 4,000 dollars in Business Class (from the West Coast), Air New Zealand has filed a fare from Bali to Bora Bora that is quite attractive. For 29 hours, you can fly business class on the 787-9 from Bali-Auckland-Papeete and then onto Bora Bora on the local airline for 133$ per hour. This is a lot higher than what I would consider a premium fare deal usually, but this is Bora Bora we are talking about😅.

For Bora Bora, this is a good fare

The 787 leaves something to be desired in hard product-wise. However, the retrofit is in progress, and it's still a lie-flat seat!

Air New Zealand Business Class

Deal 3: Swiss/Lufthansa First Class Oslo-Shanghai/Singapore 3900$ RT

This deal has a lot to play around with, and you could probably make this into a whole month's vacation if you wanted. However, the deal is based around Europe-Asia in either Swiss First Class or Lufthansa First Class, whichever you prefer. For 24 hours in First Class plus other regional segments in Business Class, the cost comes out to 118$ per hour, which is terrific for a First Class like Swiss or Lufthansa, which I have reviewed.

Not bad at all

Just look at how much space you can have with this!! Wow!

Does flying get much better?

Deal 4: Dublin-Calgary Westjet Business Class 640$ OW

For a direct flight, this one might take all of the cookies. Getting from Europe to North America can be quite expensive for the business class. However, WestJet has a couple of dates available on their 787-9 Business Class product from Dublin to Calgary for less than 650$ one way! This comes out to 75$ per hour, which is great value for a direct flight in Business Class!

Fantastic!

Westjet Business Class isn't bad, either. Put it this way: it's definitely worth 75$ per hour!

Final Thoughts

These four fares comprise this page's seventh round of the dollar-per-hour series. The goal isn't the most direct routing, but the comfiest routing for the cheapest price. We live in a world that is so beautiful and every country has a different culture to offer. This week, we found our best value with the routing originating in Mexico City and ending in Jo'burg in premium economy for 29$ per hour. For the business class, we found the value to be 75$ per hour, and for the first class, it was 118$ per hour. All fantastic deals! Stay tuned for more routes next Sunday!
