Premium Fare Deals: Dollar Per Hour 7

Intro

Welcome back everyone, it's Sunday (or Monday depending on where you are) and you know what that means! It's time for the weekly Dollar Per Hour series. This week we have 4 decent long-haul fares!

As you know, I love to find good deals on the internet; it's my passion. Every Sunday, I will release an article called the "Dollar Per Hour" series breaking down some of the best premium class deals at the moment. While I book some of them and don't, my hope is I am able to help some of you fly in comfort for at least half the price.

Deal 1: Surabaya- New York Singapore Airlines Business Class 2100$ OW

To be honest, this fare has been around since the pandemic, but it has become harder to book. With flight prices ranging upwards of 6000$ one way in business class on Singapore Airlines' longest route, it's incredible to be able to book it for less than 2100$! The cost comes out to around 100$ an hour, which for Singapore Airlines Business Class is incredible!

I have reviewed the 777 product which is very similar to the A350-900 ULR. With a 14-hour layover in Singapore, you will be in for a treat with the great lounges, and potentially an overnight at the Yotel!

Deal 2: Budapest-Los Angeles AA First Class 3686 RT

AA tends to offer a couple of good First Class fares at times. In the past we have seen Boston-Maldives for sub 3500$ RT in First Class as well as Istanbul-Punta Cana for sub 2100$ OW. In this case, you will be able to experience a bit of Club Europe with British Airways and a lot of AA First Class, totaling 32 hours of flying. The cost comes out to 115$ per hour, representing fantastic value when it comes to First Class. The best part is if you credit to BA, you will get 920 tier points! Almost the whole way to gold!

While I have flown AA First Class on the 777's, it was before my blogging days. However, the First Class is not a bad product on either the 777 or the A321T+ the Chelsea Lounge I rank as the best lounge in the USA.

Deal 3: Rome- Manila/Jakarta/Singapore China Southern Business Class 1791$ RT

Rome has been getting a lot of love recently and for good reason: the fares are fantastic! For 29 hours you can experience lie-flat seats onboard China Southern from Europe to almost anywhere in Asia. The cheapest option was Manila coming in at 61$ per hour, but Jakarta/Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are only a little bit more.

I haven't personally flown China Southern yet, but I do have plans in the future to do so. Certain 787's features lie-flat seats but supposedly, the soft product leaves space for desire.

Definitely could be worse: like economy

Deal 4: Cape Town-Hong Kong Kenya Airways Business Class 1723$ RT

This is a complicated fare for a variety of reasons. Mainly due to the fact you have to book through Expedia, which, after my issues with them onboard LATAM, I won't be doing again.

I posted a similar one-way fare with this not too long ago, but it seems an RT is only slightly higher now. The cost comes out to 59.41$ per hour, representing terrific value from South Africa to Asia, especially Hong Kong.

Kenya Airways product certainly leaves something to be desired, but that one segment in Cathay and Thai Airways on the 777 might make up for it😉.

Final Thoughts

These four fares comprise this page's seventh round of the dollar-per-hour series. The goal isn't the most direct routing, but the comfiest routing for the cheapest price. We live in a world that is so beautiful and every country has a different culture to offer. This week, we found our best value with the routing originating in Cape Town and ending in Hong Kong for $ 59.41$ per hour. However, we also got a glimpse at Singapore Business Class on their longest flight for under 2100$ as well as International First Class for under 120$ per hour! Stay tuned for more routes next Sunday!
