Intro
Malaysia Airlines has long been behind its competitors in the region when it comes to its hard product in business class, both on their narrowbodies and widebodies. However, earlier today, the airline announced the product they have chosen for their 737 Max 10s, and it looks gorgeous.
The Details
A little while back, Malaysia Airlines announced that they have a firm order for 55 Boeing 737 Max jets, and 12 of these are of the largest -10 variant presumably to higher yield destinations.
While we hadn't known which business class product was coming to the carrier, Malaysia Airlines has now released the pictures of a reverse herringbone product, similar to what you will find on the Qatar 787-9 Business Class product.
It seems that the seat will be slightly smaller, considering it is on a narrowbody, and will be in a 1-1 configuration across 6 rows, totalling 12 seats.

As you can see from the above picture, it is vastly similar to the QR J product on their 787-9 which is quite good for a widebody...

A Way Forward For Malaysia Airlines
In my unprofessional opinion, Malaysia Airlines is one of the furthest carriers behind in the Southeast Asia market, primarily due to their hard product onboard and in their lounges. Considering their Flagship Business Class isn't even full direct aisle access, it creates something that I would tend to avoid.
However, with the addition of these 737 Max 10s, I might have to rethink that. With Malaysia Airlines going from one of the worst business class products in Southeast Asia to potentially having the best narrowbody business class product, this could be a really good thing for the airline once it launches.
Final Thoughts
Malaysia Airlines has just released photos of their 737 Max 10 business class product debuting soon, and I have to say it looks gorgeous. Similar to the Qatar 787-9 product, Malaysia Airlines will now be offering direct aisle access for all customers in business class for the first time. Let's hope this comes sooner rather than later.
