Intro
Man, I just love Madagascar, you couldn't pay me to leave (heck, I'll even sacrifice malaria meds to stay (okay, hopefully I didn't curse myself)).
Anyway, after a nice flight on Air Maybe from Antananarivo, our driver was waiting for us outside the Nossi Be airport, which might be an Ant Castle in comparison to JFK. Seeing as Air Maybe was delayed 6 hours, and food was sold out in the airport, we decided to take a drive into downtown to grab some food in a local restaurant.
The Experience
By the time we left the airport, it must have been about 9:45, which was quite a bit later than the 3:00 pm scheduled arrival time. As it was so late, our driver only knew of one spot in town that was open past 10 pm, which happened to be a locally French-run spot offering food and music.
And that is all we needed. Located in downtown Hell-Ville, we found a little place consisting of an owner hitting on one of his many girlfriends (from what I heard lol), people dancing the night away to Djadja by Aya Nakamura, and beers flowing restaurant-wide.

Laughing away with the server, I ended up placing an order for a Zebu filet, which came out to a whopping 6$. Do you know what I can get for 6$ in the US? I don't, maybe a bottle of water if I am lucky.
Did you know that the Zebu comes from a different cow, but it's not called a steak here and in many other regions. It's a bit confusing, honestly.
As we were in a rush to get back for late-night massages, the server put a rush on it, meaning it was right in front of my belly 15 minutes later. But not for long, since it was so delicious. It had vanished.

Continuing to dance for a few more minutes as my mum finished her food, it was time to hit the road to get those massages. Can you believe that the masseuses waited for our delayed flight? Well, I certainly couldn't... 😅
Final Thoughts
Nossi Be is so much fun, there is no denying it. Whether you hit the beach clubs during the day or simply head out for a late-night meal, there is a special atmosphere to this island. Arriving after a delayed flight, tired, this was the perfect way to get integrated into the island, and it laid the path for an exceptional 2 days.
