Initial Thoughts: Why I'm Obsessed With Singapore Airlines 737 Max 8 Business Class SAI-SIN
I just arrived last night in Singapore from Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) and wanted to share my initial thoughts on this business class product as I won't have time to write a detailed review until after the trip. Wow, this flight was outstanding due to a couple of different factors but the main reason being there were only 2 other people in the cabin, who were seated behind me.
Here are a couple of aspects that really stood out to me.
The Cabin
Upon boarding, I could notice how pleasant it would be to sit in business class on this flight. There were Christmas decorations hung on each side of the plane which made me remember that it was actually Christmas time (I honestly forgot).
At only 10 seats and 3 rows, the SQ business class cabin is very intimate. It certainly felt that way during this flight. The last thing to note about the cabin is it had a very new/fresh smell to it.
The Seat Was Flawlessly Designed Bar One Setback
The throne seat on Singapore Airlines honestly puts Jetblue's to shame even though they are technically very similar seats. Around the shoulders it was spacious and all aspects of the seat were designed for a reason such as the shoe holder on the side. The only setback is the foot-well is small, there's no two ways about it.
The Food Was Exactly What You Expect On SQ
I opted to pre-order the food and opted for the braised beef cheek. It was so tender it could have been served up in a restaurant. The garlic bread was also just phenomenal as per usual. Pretty sure I never saw my glass of champagne near empty at any point during the flight.
IFE
The IFE was impressive with a good selection of the latest releases such as Gran Turismo and Barbie as well as Christmas movies. However, what was more impressive was how good the noise-cancelling headphones were. Yes, the 737 Max is a quiet aircraft but as I watched the Polar Express I couldn't hear a noise. One thing I will say about the IFE is the map had us going in the wrong direction the whole time 😂.
Conclusion
While I will have a full review published once I return stateside I just wanted to share my thoughts on why I loved the Singapore Airlines 737 max 8 business class.
