How I Went Viral On Tiktok In Grenada...
Intro
Well, here is something I never expected to happen on my two-day trip to Grenada. Back in May, I had just started to post on social media since a friend told me I should start documenting my travels there. Little did I know that a simple video I made would mean the whole island of Grenada saw it😅. Not only that, it ended up being posted by the local Caribbean Soca page a few days later😂.
Anyway, here is how it happened...
How It Happened
Viral is an interesting term, and to some, getting 350K views isn't viral. What I mean by going viral in Grenada is that everywhere I went in Grenada, everyone knew me from this video...
Well, I was at Umbrella Beach Bar in St George by the beach. Unknowingly, I posted a video of me drinking a shot of "under the counter" and proceeded to not even check my TikTok until the next day.
When I say I never really used Tiktok much, I really did not use it much. Well, I woke up the next day and saw that the video was trending on TikTok in the Caribbean. Keep in mind that I was extremely hungover at this time.
I ended up amassing 350K views, 70K likes, and 1000 followers, all from a single video. The craziest part for me was when I went back to the bar; everyone at the bar was speaking about this crazy white guy. Headed off to the beach, and it was the same. Heck, even when I was flying Intercaribbean over to Barbados, a staff member from the airport came up to me and mentioned it 😅.
All that to say, I don't post on TikTok anymore, but it was still a wild experience while it lasted.
Final Thoughts
While in Grenada, I decided to post a video on TikTok about me drinking a shot of under-the-counter rum. The next morning I woke up to see it trending in the Caribbean and later ammasing 350K views across Tiktok. Eventually, it was cross-posted to Soca Leaks and other accounts. If you want to have a video go viral on TikTok, just post it because how on earth did a shot of rum go viral...
