Hello From Fiji! Wow, It Is Beautiful

Intro

Ugh, well, with Labor Day this weekend and a long weekend off from school, I decided that it was best to take a trip down to Fiji for the weekend. Holy smokes, I've only been here about 8 hours, and wow, is it a beautiful place?

Why did I decide to go to Fiji? As most of you know by now, I am attempting to be the youngest man to visit every country in the world. A deal popped up where I could fly direct from Los Angeles to Nadi for 7K British Airways Miles+200$. I mean, if that isn't a no-brainer, than I don't know what is.

The People

What has stood out to me most from the second I stepped on the plane is just how hospitable every person I meet is, not in a service way, but in a friendly way. We headed out on ATVs this morning and met a bunch of the kids, who said hello every time we walked by. It's moments like these that I wonder why the world is filled with so much hate, and also moments like this when I realize why I love traveling so much.

ATV-ing in FIJI

Every single person I have met has been so nice, from random people on the street to restaurant servers. No joke, all of the people say hello and smile. It's contagious and an energy that I am truly vibing with.

The Plan

Unfortunately, it's going to be a few months until I get to all of the reviews of Fiji (I have to finish Asia 1, Caribbean, Africa, and Asia 2), but I just wanted to make a post saying what an impression Fiji has left upon me already.

The rest of the trip will consist of a couple of nights in Nadi, heading out on a boat, and exploring the Fijian tribal culture. After that, I'll be popping over to Sydney for a night in order to fly Polaris back. I found a fare from Nadi-Brisbane-Sydney-Los Angeles in Business Class for 85K miles on United, which is not bad at all.

Just like that, I'll be back in class Tuesday morning, and no one will be the wiser. Considering a night out in Los Angeles can run upwards of 200$, not including Ubers, I would much prefer being where I am right now😂.

Final Thoughts

It's going to be a while until I get to this review trip, but I just wanted to share my first impressions of Fiji. I am quite frankly gobsmacked at what an incredible place this is (minus the US tourists). It's been 6 (going on 7) hours, and my heart is already here!
