Glamping In Grenada: AMAZING!

Intro

During my two-night stay in Grenada, I had the opportunity to try out a very unique experience in the Caribbean. Originally, this trip was supposed to be with me and my mum staying down at the Six Senses in Grenada, but as she got COVID the day before the trip, I had to adapt.

Well, the day before heading to Grenada, I had nothing booked. At the airport in Georgetown, Guyana, I saw this glamping place in Grenada for a reasonable price (compared to hotels). For 160$ (ish) per night, I went ahead and booked it! Glamping in Grenada was going to be one heck of an adventure!

Honestly, what a wonderful and refreshing experience! I cannot recommend staying here if Grenada is part of your plans.

The Glamping Experience

Moments after I booked the reservation, I received confirmation and an offer to be picked up from the airport, which I thought was nice. The glamping location is only about 5 minutes away from the airport and another 5 minutes away from the main attractions.

From the moment I was picked up, I was met by a lovely lady who runs the glamping in the back of her house. How beautiful is this layout???😌

There are two different glamping tents that you can rent through Airbnb (the link is here). Rebekah (the host) put so much thought into the details to make sure that guests are comfortable in every way possible. The small details are what stood out to me, such as the pillow that said, "Follow your heart".

The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and how the space was a needed private escape.

When I say the host put in an unreal amount of effort to make this place feel like home, she really did. There are countless board games if you happen to have someone else to play with😅 as well as the wifi password on the table and a stocked fridge with everything you need available.

In case you are wondering about the toilet situation, when I went glamping in Africa, someone had to pour water over our heads 15 years ago😅; it's not quite the same.

There is a separate room, which is an outside enclosed space for the bathroom and shower. Everything worked very well, and the shower was exceptionally good.

In case you are worried about safety, there is a private door that locks with a key password you are given. To be honest, though, Grenada is especially safe, and I think I even forgot to close the door one night 😅; perks of under-the-counter rum, hehe.

It Was More Than Glamping

Part of why I love Airbnb is because the people you interact with are generally from the country. Rebekah (the host) showed me what Grenada was like and offered an experience that she didn't have. She drove me around and showed me St George, offered to assist with rides to town if I needed to, and even went out of the way to have a bonfire with me one night.

Moments like this made me realize that we have some amazing people in this world, and I cannot wait to go back. While the host obviously wants to make money, this is an experience for guests that goes way above money (and no I am not sponsored for this, it just has a very special place in my heart).

As I mentioned, airport transfers were offered for free, which was a lovely touch. Going to a new country can be scary for some, and you can often get ripped off by a local taxi driver at the airport😅.

Final Thoughts

If you are thinking about heading to the Caribbean, put Grenada on your map; it is a very special place. If you do decide to head to Grenada, I highly recommend staying with Rebekah at Glamping Grenada. I had a seamless experience with lovely accommodation, free airport transfers, and recommendations, and the host even went out of her way to try and arrange for me to go snorkeling.

There is something special about this place, and I hope others get to experience it 🙂.
