EVA Air Launching Flights From Taipei To Dallas: Interesting

Intro

EVA Air, one of three main flag carriers of Taiwan, has long had a decently extensive network to the United States (not Europe), and it seems that it will continue to grow as of later this year.

The Details

Beginning October 3rd, 2025, EVA Air will be launching 3x weekly flights from Taipei (TPE) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) utilizing a 777-300ER. With EVA Air already serving Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New York, and Toronto, this will become their ninth destination in North America.

The flight will be operated with the following schedule on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays:

BR50: Taipei-Dallas departing at 7:45 PM and arriving at 7:05 PM

BR49: Dallas-Taipei departing 10:50 PM arriving at 5:25 AM (+2 days)

EVA Air flies their 787-10 to Seattle, the only US destination that solely uses the 78X, the rest are 77Ws

This Is An Interesting Route Addition

Minus EVA Air's route to Seattle and New York JFK, EVA Air solely serves locations in the US that have a Star Alliance hub to help gain connecting traffic on United and Air Canada. So, seeing as Dallas is American Airlines' stronghold airport, it is interesting to see EVA Air add this route.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to see this work for a number of reasons. Firstly, EVA Air won't have to fill 339 daily seats as the route will only be operating 3x weekly, and is more prioritized for business travelers with the Friday and Sunday departures. Secondly, Dallas is a growingly huge financial hub in general, which shows that there should be enough point-to-point traffic on this route.

For most of us, award travel seems the way to go, so I would get your hopes up on finding space on that Wednesday flight, as my guess is that EVA Air will release business class award space for almost every Wednesday flight through their own program.

Final Thoughts

If you are a traveler who frequently flies between Dallas and Taipei, you will be pleased to know that EVA Air will be launching three times weekly service between the two destinations as of October 3rd. While this might sound a bit odd on paper, I am excited to see how this route does and if they are able to fill up the planes.

The better question: will EVA send passengers to the United Club, or the Capital One Lounge in Dallas, by gaining a contract with them?
