Denver Airport Opens A Golf Simulator? Wow!
Intro
For a long time now, I have complained about the lack of physical activity in airports. There is so much potential when it comes to airports, as people often spend hours sitting around, and businesses should find ways to capitalize on that. However, Denver has just announced a gold lounge at its main airport, and this could be the first step towards physical activity at airports (in the US).
The Details
A new gold simulator has just opened at Denver International Airport in Concourse A on the Mezzanine level. The current hours have the simulator open from 7 am to 7 pm daily and costs 20$ for 15 minutes, 34$ for 30 minutes, and 65$ for 60 minutes.
No matter if you are a professional or an amateur looking to strike a few balls before your flight, this is a fantastic way to kill some time. The whole experience comes with lounge chairs and drinks available for purchase. I'm guessing you'd be able to have your mates chill with you in the simulator if you wanted. More information can be found on the golf at Denver airport website.
Although, I would be careful about your mile-to-gallon ratio if you happen to be boarding a plane😂😉.
My Thoughts
This is an activity that is under-tapped in the US market. Around the world, we have seen a few "gyms" operate in airports, notably the beautiful one in Doha. However, with the amount of delays and cancellations that Denver sees in the wintertime, this is exactly what customers need to kill some time. Golf is a lovely and relaxed sport (when playing casually), and thus, it's not like passengers will come out of the simulator dripping in sweat.
I'd like to begin to see full spas and gyms open up across main airports in the USA. Think about having 30 minutes of work, 20 minutes in the hot+cold tub, a quick shower, and getting off to your gate.
Final Thoughts
Denver Airport has just opened its latest airport amenity: a golf simulator. If you happen to have some time at Denver Airport, make sure to go check out this simulator and knock up a few balls.
