Delta Adds Shake Shack To Domestic First: YUM!
Intro
Delta is an airline that I rank quite lowly across the USA for a number of reasons. However, Delta has just announced that it will be serving Shake Shack burgers to passengers in Domestic First on certain flights. Seeing as I am an avid Shake Shack fan, I believe this is a huge win for Delta in my book.
The Details
Beginning December 1st, 2024, Delta will be serving Shake Shack burgers on flights out of Boston that are over 900 miles in Domestic First. As of now, this is limited to Boston, but I would expect to see this expand on the East Coast at a later date if all goes well.
Shake Shack serves some fantastic burgers, but passengers flying on Delta will only be allowed to have the "cheeseburger." For those wondering, the burger is simple cheese, meat, and bun. However, passengers can customize the burger by adding traditional garnishes such as tomato, lettuce, and onion to the side.
My Thoughts
I have been waiting for an airline to make a partnership like this for years. I could never understand why an airline hasn't done this sooner since not only do Eastern US citizens love Shake Shack, but it promotes Shake Shack on a plane. Judging from the picture above, it seems that Shake Shack will have some advertising on the actual plate itself.
Plane food is extremely easy to screw up; just look at what most US airlines serve. However, with a pre-made Shack Shack burger, it's pretty difficult to screw up that.
Final Thoughts
Delta Airlines will begin serving Shake Shack burgers to passengers seated in Domestic First on flights over 900 miles beginning December 1st. This is the first time that we have seen an airline collaborate with such a lovely American food chain, and I am all for it!
