Cathay Pacific New Business Class 777s: Aria Suite
Intro
Earlier this year, Cathay Pacific teased their all-new cabins in Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, while we also got potential blueprint leaks of the new First-Class product. The product was eventually delayed (not anything like Allgeris), but the new cabins have finally entered service as of today!
The Details
As of today, the first Cathay Pacific jet has entered service with these new cabins from Hong Kong to Beijing. Presumably, Cathay is operating this jet on shorter hops to familiarize the crew. Flights are currently on sale between the two destinations and are right in line with the normal costs for business class.
The route will operate between the 18th of October 2024 and the 31st of October 2024 with the following schedule:
CX332: Hong Kong-Beijing departing 12:00 PM arriving 3:30 PM
CX331: Beijing-Hong Kong departing 4:50 PM arriving 8:35 PM
We can expect to see the planes eventually operate more intra-Asian destinations as more of these jets are configured. This is for a number of reasons, but the main one being that the originally configured jets are in a 3-class layout, and CX flies First Class to Los Angeles, London, Paris, and New York.
As of now, the Hong Kong based airline is looking to start putting this product on a daily frequency to London as of January 2025 once at least three jets have been reconfigured.
The Product
Not much hype has been promoted around this product from the very beginning. However, we know that Cathay Pacific came up with this design in partnership with JSA. Supposedly, the seat is made by Collins Aerospace, but the concept of what it was based on is what we don't know. It seems that Cathay has put a lot of thought into this product, and it looks gorgeous!
Other features of the suite consist of:
Laid out in a reverse herringbone 1-2-1 configuration
Enclosed storage compartments
24-inch, 4K screens
Bluetooth audio
Wireless charging
Monitor showing when lavatories are occupied
A privacy door
Final Thoughts
While it is going to take a couple of years for the full rollout of this new business-class product to be done, I am excited to see Cathay Pacific has begun. The new suite looks quite good and has some unique features we haven't seen before. For now, you can fly the single reconfigured jet between Hong Kong and Beijing daily.
