Brussels Airlines Adding A330s To Fleet+Updating Cabins
Intro
Brussels Airlines is a carrier that primarily serves destinations in Africa. To most of the world, this is a small airline that is relatively unheard of, but to aviation enthusiasts, we all know that Brussels Airlines is a decently sized part of the Lufthansa Group.
With that being said, Brussels Airlines plans to acquire three more A330s in the following years and bring some swagger to the interiors!
The Details
Brussels Airlines currently has a fleet consisting of 10 Airbus A330s. However, rumor has come to light that the airline will acquire three more A330s in the next few years.
As noted by the aviation world, Brussels Airlines will be investing upwards of 100 million euros into business class, premium economy, and economy over the coming years. At the moment, there is no timeline for when these new refurbishments will come to fruition. However, I'm not too fussed, as Brussels Airlines has a decent business class (all-aisle access) for the market that it serves.
My Thoughts
I am overly impressed with Brussels Airlines in this intitaive. Most airlines, unless needing to do so, wouldn't invest so much in their passenger experience since owning an airline is for monetary reasons. Brussels Airlines has a decent business class, premium economy, and economy already, so this certainly isn't mandated by any means.
Seeing this airline grow is simply incredible. Serving the likes of Kinshasa, Luanda, Dakar, and Entebbe (to name a few) isn't easy by any means. However, they clearly must be doing something right if the demand is so high to acquire 3 new A330s.
As the CEO wrote:
“Brussels Airlines is further embarking on its profitable growth path and we continue putting Africa at the heart of our long-haul strategy. The multi-million investment in cabin interior allows us to offer our customers an even more premium experience. This is a moment of pride for everyone at Brussels Airlines.”
Final Thoughts
I am thoroughly impressed with Brussels Airlines and what they have conjured up. In the years to come, Brussels Airlines will add three A330s to their fleet and modernize all three cabins. I am excited to give them a try, and even found an award seat in November which might work out 😉.
