Intro
On the way back from the Passport Agency yesterday (more on that in a bit), I had a marvelous revelation. My revelation was: what am I doing in this country when an Uber to go 60 KM is 200$? Well, I have decided to say screw it: I am going to Songkran this weekend in Bangkok!
Outbound
On the way to Thailand, I was pretty much confined to the last saver seat on United Miles. While I would have loved to have reviewed a new airline, 100K United Miles to fly Polaris from Los Angeles to Hong Kong and then Thai Airways A320 from Hong Kong Kong to Bangkok isn't a bad deal.

As I sit in the Polaris Lounge, I am excited to once again be onboard Polaris, but also sad that I can't bring any new airline reviews. I really try to try out as many airlines as possible, but UA has me running the rat race, and 100K miles for a 16-hour flight in Business is hard to beat at the last minute.
Plus, I've gotta say that I love flying Polaris out of Los Angeles for one reason: the amazing man named Elmer who works in the LAX Lounge. I don't have to order anything anymore, since he knows my order 😅.
Heading Back
Now for the way back, I am leaving this up to the people. There are a couple of options on the table, and I've gotta say that none of them sound. Let me know which one you would like to see!
Option 1: Japan First Class (BKK-HND), United Polaris HND-LAX (78X)
Option 2: Thai Vietjet BKK-TPE, United Polaris TPE-SFO, UA Domestic First SFO-LAX
Option 3: Thai First Class Bangkok-London, United Polaris LHR-LAX
Option 4: JAL Business Class BKK-NRT (787-8) and NRT-SEA (787-9), followed by Alaska economy SEA-LAX.
My thinking is that JAL could be fun to try out on their 787-8 and 787-9, and for 70,000 American Airlines miles, this isn't a bad idea at all. The only issue is that I land at 4:43 into LAX, and have a test at 5:45 pm so it's cutting a bit close (45 min drive away). But I am curious, what would you like to see reviews of (I know United Nonstop is boring)?
Final Thoughts
Yesterday when driving back from Los Angeles to Orange County, I realized "What on earth am I doing here in California, when I can go to Songkran for the same price as going out for 2 nights in California". Anyways, with IN space open to Bangkok, I decided to say screw it and head to Bangkok. But now the question: what is the best way to get back? Or do I just drop out of school and buy a place near Soi Cowboy (this is sarcasm btw) 😂.
