American Airlines Flagship Lounge Miami- Best Business Class Lounge In The US?

Intro

Controversial post title? Potentially. However, after visiting almost all of the business class lounges in the US, I found that the Flagship Lounge in Miami might prove to be my favorite (yes, even more than the Polaris Lounges).

AA Flagship Lounge Miami

Before flying on American Airlines First Class to Los Angeles, I was invited to check out the Flagship Lounge. While I have reviewed the lounge (you can check it out here), I wanted to share another brief snapshot of this lounge.

No Overcrowding

Sadly, I have gotten to try the Delta One Lounge in New York Kennedy yet. However, even after a couple of weeks of being active, there have been reports of overcrowding. This is my biggest issue with a lounge, as I recently flew Polaris to Lagos (review coming soon), and found at times there were no seats available in the lounge...

However, after spending over 24 hours in the flagship lounge in Miami this year, I have yet to see near to full, even in the evenings.

Food & Champagne

Okay, I'll be honest: Polaris has the ability to win in the food category due to it being a sit-down restaurant. However, there have been times when I have had to wait around an hour just to get a table at the Polaris Lounge. The food in the Flagship Lounge isn't bad for a buffet at all (and I don't eat buffets often).

Now, where AA really wins is the champagne bars around the lounges. Truly truly truly, Piper Heidisck is the best champagne that is served at business class lounges in the US (not including Chelsea Lounge).

Of Course, it's all opinion based

Shower Suites and Amenities

Another aspect where AA takes it is with their showers. While the showers in the Polaris lounge are good, I feel as if the lounge in Miami is a step up with modern showers and fantastic water pressure.

Final Thoughts

After spending another couple of hours before my flight up to Los Angeles in the Flagship Lounge, I think this might be the best business-class lounge in the USA (yes, I haven't tried the Delta One Lounge yet). With stellar service, not too many people, champagne stations around the lounge, and a very decent buffet, it's easy to stay here for a long layover if needed.
