American Airlines Flagship First Dining Los Angeles. What Happened?

Intro

The other night, I had an amazing flight onboard American Airlines from New York to Los Angeles on Flagship First. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, I visited the Flagship Lounge, and it got me thinking: what happened to the Flagship First Dining at Los Angeles (LAX)? Curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to go check out the Flagship First Dining.

4 Years And Counting

4 years ago, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, airlines were in a rough spot trying to stay afloat. During that period, almost all of the lounges closed around the world, but there was one American Airlines lounge that remained closed: Flagship First Dining Los Angeles.

It's not as if the lounge is gone; in fact, quite the opposite, it is still there. The website states that the lounge is "temporarily closed", but I don't think it will ever re-open due to the minimal lounge haul routes that operate out of Los Angeles.

Here is a look at what it looks like now:

So, what happens to the VIP Premium Passengers?

Given that plenty of VIPs and celebrities fly American Airlines out of Los Angeles, I thought I might as well ask what happens to those passengers? American Airlines has blocked certain places for the VIP passengers, but they were unclear into what qualifies for access to these "reserved rooms".

I've always been a strong advocate for American Airlines, but it's not a great thing that passengers flying Flagship First Class don't get access to these "reserved" parts. I've heard of first-class passengers not getting access when flying to London, so this leaves Sydney alone, which I am unsure about.

My guess is it's solely for celebrities.

Final Thoughts

American Airlines Flagship First Dining at Los Angeles has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic. While I don't expect it to re-open, especially with Flagship First coming to an end, it's still as beautiful as ever. Uh, what a time I used to have back in the day there.
