Airport Airbnb (Accommodation) San Jose Costa Rica: What It's Really Like
Intro
After my flight with Sansa Airlines, I stayed in San Jose Costa Rica for one night. As much as I would have liked to visit the main town of San Jose, I landed at 9 pm and had to head back to the airport at 3:30 am for my 6:50 am departure to Bogota the next morning. Realistically, it didn't make sense to do the long drive. However, I found that there is a cute little town called "Alajuela" near the airport!
How I Booked
For my one-night stay in San Jose, the airport hotels were looking at 180-220+ per night, a tad ridiculous. However, I headed to Airbnb and found a place just a 6-minute drive from the airport for 34$ for the night! If you are interested in the link it is here (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/53367016?adults=1&check_in=2024-04-24&check_out=2024-04-25&source_impression_id=p3_1711655521_n4QGRUiSUzaoHGRt&previous_page_section_name=1000&federated_search_id=1342bcc4-d2d2-4751-95fc-8e2c4e72c80b).
A bargain, that turned out to be quite a nice place!
Check-In
24 hours before my arrival time, I was sent instructions on how to check in. After arriving from the airport (tired), it was super simple!
After grabbing the keys, I headed on the short 3-minute walk to the rooms. Thankfully, all of this was detailed in the instructions!
The Room
The rooms were easy to locate and I soon found my room for the night.
Upon first glance, I was impressed by the price that I paid! Look at how cozy it is 🥰.
A kitchenette was on the side table, and snacks were provided for a small fee (unlike the airport prices). There were even instructions on how to pay!!!
There was a TV on the wall, but who uses a television on Vacation???
Side note: there is no AC but this wasn't an issue for me since a fan was provided. I grew up in a house in London that didn't have AC, which meant I slept with a fan every night!
The bed was uber comfortable (not Lyft comfortable😅) and gave me 4 hours of sleep! The sheets were perfect and it's a good size for 1-2 people!
The only issue came with the charging ports being located over the bed and not beside the bed, although I still managed😆.
A comfortable chair was next to the bed and seeing as this is more of a transit Airbnb (I assume), it's a perfect place to lay some bags for their rest!
A better look at the kitchenette. Everything was laid out very neatly.
The Bathroom
The bathroom was simple, but it was functional. There was little door that led inside to the small space.
A sink was located on the left when I first walked in. It worked perfectly for my short one-night stay.
There was a toilet and a shower that proved to be very useful. Although it wasn't anything fancy, the water pressure was good and there was constant hot water.
A couple of towels were provided (folded), soap and shampoo. Everything you needed in one place.
Check Out
Remember how easy check-in was? Well, it was exactly the same when it came to checkout. Instructions were sent on what to do. I left my keys in the door and made my way back out onto the street where my Uber was waiting to take me on the seven-minute drive to the airport!

Final Thoughts
My one-night stay at this airport Airbnb was simply perfect for 34$. The bed was comfortable and everything was super simple due to the great communication from the host. When you are coming off of a flight, you just want to get some good rest, and that is what I got here. I highly recommend staying here if you are in transit!
Before anyone asks, I do not get any commission or anything. My one goal is to help out the travel community from my experiences❤️.
