Intro
Following an extremely long flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, I had about 11 hours to kill in this beautiful place before heading up to Beijing. While I find Hong Kong to be expensive, it’s also a place that is filled with character which is what I love.
Roaming The Streets Of Kowloon
Most of the time I spend in Hong Kong tends to be on the island, but today I decided to mix it up a bit and walk along the streets of Kowloon. As the express train dropped me off at the Kowloon station, I walked around, exploring a side of Hong Kong I hadn’t seen much of before.

Massage parlors filled the streets (cough cough), lovely balloon-like figures lay overhead, and a sense of bustle was there on a Saturday morning. Kowloon is truly a beautiful part of Hong Kong, and the next time I stay the night it will be here.
A Stop For Coffee
As I walking along the Jordan area, I came across a Starbucks. Considering I wanted to put out the review of the Los Angeles to Hong Kong flight, I bought a coffee and signed into the wifi. Little did I know that it doesn’t give you unlimited wifi, but a 30-minute code??! Can someone elaborate on this for me please as to why?

Kowloon Cricket Club
The main focal point of my day in Hong Kong was to see a good friend for lunch at Kowloon cricket club. Everytime that he is in the US, we both make an effort to see each other, and in Hong Kong vice versa. As he is a member at the Kowloon Cricket Club, he allowed me a shower and then eventually we had lunch.

This brings back so many fond memories, as cricket used to be one of my favorite activities in life.
Second Lunch
But then it was time for my second lunch. Usually, one lunch is enough for me, but when Pizza Express is in town, that is the only thing on my mind. Seriously, growing up as a kid in London it was a tradition every friday night. I headed off to the closest Pizza Express, grabbed a pint of beer, and watched the F1 Qualifying. Talk about YUKI!!

And just like that, 3 pm had come around and it was time to head off to the airport!

Final Thoughts
Hong Kong has been a city that has grown on me since I was young. Spending the day in Kowloon showed me a cool cultural side to the city which is vastly opposite to the island. With a nice lunch at the cricket club, seeing some lovely street decorations, and finishing it up with my childhood theme of Pizza Express, it was a lovely day!
