A Layover Day In Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱
Intro
Welcome to country number 99! Poland 🇵🇱!
Following a decent flight onboard LOT Polish Airlines in Business Class from New York to Warsaw, I had the opportunity to explore the latest country on my list: Poland. Although I only had eight hours between flights, I made the decision to head into the city as it is no more than 20 minutes away from the airport. Let's just say it was worth it!
My Impressions Of Warsaw
Minus Greece (and possibly Turkey (I am not getting into this debate)), this would actually be the furthest point in Eastern Europe I had ever been. This region of the world has long fascinated me, and it turned out to be a place that I quite enjoyed.
Over the years, I've had a lot of friends from Poland. They have always been very kind people but also very blunt 😅. Heck, I even had a teacher once that was from Poland, and let's just say I was put in my place one too many times (okay, not in that way, relax).
The people were exactly like my friends in every way, and I think that's pretty neat. However, the part that stood out to me was how some of the buildings resembled only what I have seen in pictures of Russia. Russia has been my dream destination since I was young and my mum ranted and raved about it being beautiful. I got a small taste here with some of the ex USSR influence.

Breakfast
Strolling along the streets of downtown, I came across this cute little breakfast spot. Considering I hadn't eaten, I chose to sit down and indulge.
Alright, alright, I know I am a weird eater, no need to make fun of me 🥴 (I already make fun of myself enough).
This is a solid spot for breakfast, and I enjoyed some pancakes, a coffee, and a froze!!!

All in all, this is a restaurant that I recommend you visit if you are in Warsaw. The food is good, the staff are friendly, and I couldn't ask for much more!
More... Walking...
With another 4 hours to kill until my flight to Istanbul, I decided to keep walking around for another hour or so. Thankfully it was summer, as this would have been a very different layover day review had it been winter, even with my Canadian blood 😅 (Oh Canada, you are so friggin cold, true cold and cold).
It's a magnificent city. It is not quite as magnificent as Kyiv, but it is special in its own way (Kyiv is my new favorite city in Europe in terms of architecture).

I even saw a Venezuelan and Palestine flag flying. Venezuela is another country that I am dying to visit, and the process is currently in the works. My plan would be to head to Moscow first and then fly on the Conviasa A340 over to Caracas. Now, that would be one heck of a flight review!

And that was it. 3 hours before departure, I hopped in an Uber back to the airport and was ready to go to Istanbul!
Final Thoughts
If you happen to find yourself with a layover in Warsaw that exceeds 5 hours, I highly recommend taking the time to head into the city to see what the city is like. It's visually beautiful, the people are nice, and it is close to the airport. Now, with that being said, I might reconsider if it was winter 😅.
