Intro
Arriving from Beijing with Air China relatively rested (thanks to the nice bed), the next mission came getting to Peshawar that evening so I could be at the Afghanistan consulate the next morning, bright and early.
Well, as it would turn out, getting around Pakistan is really easy. The secret is Indrive!
Indrive Saved The Day
Exiting the Islamabad terminal, I had already prepared myself to be haggled by multiple people asking “taxi”. But I knew better, simply download the app Indrive using the free airport wifi, and you can request a ride to pretty much anywhere.

Most taxi drivers in the region were attempting to get me to pay 10,000 PKR, but using Indrive, I was able to find a driver for 6,000 PKR which was a decent deal. The only issue is that it took 15 minutes for the driver to arrive, but hey, what else am I going to do?
The Drive/Bakery
Once my driver picked me up, the 2-hour long drive West to Peshawar went by in a jiffy. In all honesty, it was so dark that I didn’t even take any pictures + I ended up taking a nap.

It wasn’t until we got close to Peshawar that my driver asked if we could make a stop at the most famous bakery in town. I mean, why not right? Needless to say, this place was bustling on a Sunday night (probably due to Ramadan and the sun being down) and the sweet treats looked delightful.

However, I could definitely tell I was getting tired so I asked the driver if we could head off to the hotel. Without any hesitation, the answer was yes! More on that in the next report.

Final Thoughts
Landing in Islamabad I was slightly worried about trying to find a taxi to take me to Peshawar. Thankfully, Indrive saved the day as I was able to find a rate for 6000 PKR to take me on the 2-hour long drive West. With a kind driver, a stop in the bakery, and a short nap, it turned out to be quite a fun ride!
