Intro
While I will have a full review of the hotel after I finish up this trip, I wanted to share a quick look at the Camfrey Hotel nearby Beijing Capital Airport.
After a very decent nap onboard Air China, it was relatively late and all I wanted to do was get to the hotel as I had to be up the next morning at 5:30 am.
However, what I failed to realize when booking was that the Camfrey hotel, while cheap at 55$ per night, is located by Terminal 2 and not Terminal 3. So when my Air China flight landed at Terminal 3, this meant I crawled my way in a taxi on the 15 minute drive to the hotel.

Check-In/Lobby
Arriving at the Camfrey, the first thing that struck me was just how empty this place was. The lobby was a small place but clearly had been renovated recently, while an interconnected shop lay open at 11:00 pm. In the lobby is also where the breakfast buffet is located, which opens at 6 am.
Check-in was an interesting process and took about 10 minutes due to the agents thinking my stamp to Taiwan was for Mainland China. Hmm… Nonetheless, it was all sorted out in the end, and the staff also input the wifi password into my phone.

Can I just say, they have a robot which takes food up to your room. How crazy is that???!
The Rooms
Heading upstairs, I was pleased to find some modernly decorated hallways. Once again, it still felt like the place was completely deserted…

My room, 6221, was located midway down the corridor on the 6th floor and featured everything one need to sleep for a night. Sure, this isn’t the most luxurious property around (I miss the FS Beijing, so many good memories there) but there was a comfortable bed with two pillows, a desk for working, a couple bottles of water, a shower, and all the amenities needed for cleaning yourself.

For some odd reason though, I didn’t sleep well last night at the Camfrey. It was probably due to jetlag, but I ended up waking up 3 times throughout the night which is peculiar for me. Nothing to do with the bed though, as it was comfortable.
Check-Out
Waking up at 5 am, I got some work done for an hour, and the proceeded downstairs to find the lobby jam-packed. Last night I saw absolutely no one, and this morning it felt like the hotel was downstairs 😅.
Checkout was a breeze as I simply just handed off my keys (I’m a poet, and I don’t even know it ha), and it was off to the Great Wall Of China: my last World Wonder!
Final Thoughts
While I didn't have the best sleep I've ever had, the Camfrey Hotel near Beijing Capital Airport is a place to sleep, and not much more. However, at 55$ per night, it is much cheaper than the Hilton nearby which offers more amenities in terms of a spa and pool, but also costs more...
